Carving by Coté
Thomas Coté, was born March 1948 in Caribou, Maine, but is now living and carving in Limestone, Maine. He retired from teaching art in the Limestone School System after 28 years and is now the art teacher of the Maine School of Science and Math. He also gives private and group lessons in carving, drawing, painting, and black and white photography.
His roots go very deep in the French and Acadian Heritage. His great great grandfather was a sculptor in Quebec City during the 1800’s. Thom studied wood sculpting in Saint-Jean Port Joli, Quebec..."the wood sculpting capital of North America", and has won many awards for his carvings in competitions throughout New England and Eastern Canada.
He currently has carvings in private collections all over the world.
